Rossendale Valley Energy – Community Owned Solar
In April 2025 we launched an ambitious new solar project in Rossendale – RVE Solar. This is your chance to back community owned solar in Rossendale. You can learn more on our web page, or invest now if you’ve already decided.
Energy Advice and Fairer Warmth
We provide free, impartial energy advice in person, online, over the phone or at your home. We have regular pop-ups and attend lots of events, as well as Energy Champions who visit local community groups. If you’d like to get in touch then visit the Energy Advice and Fairer Warmth page.

Rossendale Valley Energy has launched an ambitious new solar project
We launched our community solar share offer on Monday 28th April 2025. This is a great opportunity to back renewable energy, local businesses and get a return on your investment.
We are installing nearly 900 PV panels on the roof at Interfloor Ltd in Haslingden, and they will buy the electricity from us.
Interfloor Ltd. are Europe’s largest manufacturer of carpet underlays and have been part of the Lancashire business community for nearly a century.

Collaboration brings success for Net Zero Terrace Streets
Rossendale Valley Energy (RVE) and partners have won the prestigious Energy Innovation award 2024, from Utility Week for their collaborative and innovative approach to deliver low carbon domestic heating.

Kate Gilmartin (volunteer Director with Rossendale Valley Energy) welcomed the award saying, “This endorses our community-based approach to tackling decarbonisation of heat in a collaborative, whole systems approach.

Rossendale Energy Advice Partnership (REAP) event
We are joining forces with local organisations that are offering energy advice and support in Rossendale – so that’s us, Citizens Advice East Lancashire, Homewise, Cosy Homes in Lancashire, Newground Together – we are the Rossendale Energy Advice Partnership (REAP)
We are holding a joint energy advice event on Friday 29th November, 1pm to 4pm at Kay Street Baptist Church, Rawtenstall BB4 7LS.

We are finalists in the Utility Week awards – 2024!
This year’s Utility Week Awards have been the most competitive ever, with the judges whittling down a record 325 entries to 116 finalists across 16 categories, and we’re in the ‘Innovation Award – Energy’ category. The final event will be on 3rd December 2024 so Watch this space!
Family Hub Parent Partners – Bacup Maden Centre
The Parent Partner’s group at the Rossendale Family Hubs network has a weekly get together at The Maden Centre in Bacup – a warm welcome with help, advice and support. There will be a monthly advice session on the first Thursday of the month and we’ll be there to provide free, impartial energy advice, along with any other useful agencies that can make it.

Saturday 21st September 2024 at Rawtenstall Methodist; a free wellbeing event where you can get empowered about the various activities, services and groups in Rossendale from a variety of providers and organisations!

Rossendale Valley Energy does pop-ups at each Rossendale library once a month.
- Bacup Library – first Monday of the month 1:30pm to 4pm.
- Whitworth Library – second Monday of the month, 1:30pm to 4pm.
- Rawtenstall Library – first Wednesday of the month, 10am to 12pm.
