Rossendale Valley Energy (RVE) is a community-owned renewable energy group empowering local people to help make fuel more affordable and create warmer homes. We hope to bring people together from all walks of life to deliver community-owned green energy, warmer homes and help make it affordable for everyone. Terraced Streets in Rossendale
Imagine a street of terraced houses which are warm, cosy and affordable to run, without any upfront or extra cost to homeowners, tenants and landlords. What if we can work towards having streets like this – right here in Rossendale? Imagine a move away from fossil fuels that cause damage to our natural environment. We have a Terraced Streets project that would love to bring local people together – working towards accessible, affordable, low carbon energy and warm healthy homes. Energy Advice Team
We provide FREE energy advice and ongoing support to the residents of Rossendale. We attend lots of events, have regular pop-ups, and Energy Champions who visit local community groups. Get in touch to to arrange a visit or find out where we are next; visit the Energy Advice Team for details.
Health and social care professionals – Green Health Champions
The Green Health Champion project runs until March 2026. It supports health and social care professionals to identify those whose health is at risk from a cold home. Any health and social care professionals who would would like to identify vulnerable people who live in cold homes, and gain access to the champion hub on Fairer Warmth, get in touch; email health@rvenergy.org.uk. Collaboration brings success for Net Zero Terrace Streets
Rossendale Valley Energy (RVE) and partners have won the prestigious Energy Innovation award 2024, from Utility Week for their collaborative and innovative approach to deliver low carbon domestic heating.

Kate Gilmartin (volunteer Director with Rossendale Valley Energy) welcomed the award saying, “This endorses our community-based approach to tackling decarbonisation of heat in a collaborative, whole systems approach.

We are finalists in the Utility Week awards – 2024!

This year’s Utility Week Awards have been the most competitive ever, with the judges whittling down a record 325 entries to 116 finalists across 16 categories, and we’re in the ‘Innovation Award – Energy’ category. The final event will be on 3rd December 2024 so Watch this space!
Family Hub Parent Partners – Bacup Maden Centre
The Parent Partner’s group at the Rossendale Family Hubs network has a weekly get together at The Maden Centre in Bacup – a warm welcome with help, advice and support. There will be a monthly advice session on the first Thursday of the month and we’ll be there to provide free, impartial energy advice, along with any other useful agencies that can make it.

Saturday 21st September 2024 at Rawtenstall Methodist; a free wellbeing event where you can get empowered about the various activities, services and groups in Rossendale from a variety of providers and organisations!

- Bacup Library – first Monday of the month 1:30pm to 4pm.
