What are heat pumps?
An air pump transfers air from outside your home to water inside your home, this then heats your home via radiators or underfloor heating. This clever solution can also be used to heat water stored in a cylinder that can then be used to supply taps and showers. The technology works by absorbing air into a liquid, the liquid then passes a heat exchanger to the heat pump, raising the temperature and transferring the heat to water.
Air source heat pumps are a great alternative to your old boiler, helping to provide heat and hot water for your home. Valley Heritage installed an air source heat pump at the old Lancashire & Yorkshire Bank building in Bacup, Rossendale.
